CreativeWear

The project that creatively innovates traditional business models in the T&C industry

CreativeWear (Creative Clothing for Mediterranean Space) is a European project, headed by the Municipality of Prato, which proposes new business models for the Textile and Clothing sector. Why the name "creative wear"? Because the project focuses on territorial creativity, on the dimension of social and collective work, on personalized design, on social innovation as the main driver of new cluster-based business models.
The Creative Wear project, developed within the Interreg MED Program, extends the Business Laboratories model of the TCBL (Textile & Clothing Business Labs) project to existing clusters in the MED area such as museums, creative hubs, fashion schools and design centersintegrating them with the reference ecosystem and trying to recover and enhance the design heritage and the "know-how" of Mediterranean cultures.

The CreativeWear project has as main objective the establishment of a network of 5 Hubs, one for each partner region, which can experiment with different forms of interaction between creatives (artists, designers, etc) and entrepreneurs. The pilot experiences of these approaches will validate new and more sustainable business models available to the cultural and creative industries that will give added value to the T&C sector in the Mediterranean. Successful solutions will then be extended transnationally to creative hubs present in the Mediterranean area and beyond.

- The Heritage Hub in Prato aims to digitize the significant heritage of the textile industrial district (catalogs, sample books, collections, etc.) to stimulate renewed creativity and encourage a strong Mediterranean identity for new productions in the T&C sector.
- The Social Hub in Ljubljana focuses on the circular economy by connecting the opportunities and needs of the various companies in the textile and clothing sector, using an inclusive approach guided by multidisciplinary creativity. The Hub is structured around a Social co-working Factory.
- The Technology Hub in Valencia focuses on the dual objective of engaging on the one hand in the development and marketing of new fabrics by involving creatives and on the other in expanding and improving the knowledge of new materials and processes with local designers.
